How do I stay fully myself and still let someone close?
How do I know whether this relationship is genuinely mutual?
And why do I keep doubting myself when I can usually trust my judgement everywhere else?

You probably don’t need more relationship advice
You probably don’t need more relationship advice
You may already know about attachment styles, boundaries, communication and red flags.
You've probably spent years working on yourself and becoming more self-aware.
And yet being inside a relationship is different from understanding relationships intellectually.
Because when you truly care about someone, there is hope in the room.
Attraction. Loyalty. Empathy. Fear. History.
And sometimes the very qualities that make you thoughtful and emotionally intelligent can make it harder to recognise when you are being too accommodating, interpreting too much, or slowly taking responsibility for a relationship that is supposed to belong equally to two people.
The Sovereign Love Workshop Series is a place to step outside the emotional fog and take another look.
Not through rigid rules about what relationships should look like.
Through discernment, reciprocity and the question that sits underneath so much of my work:
Is this mutual?
The Autumn Series

How do you let someone deeply into your life without abandoning yourself in the process?
We’ll explore what intimacy actually requires – and where closeness can become confused with over-accommodation, emotional responsibility or losing contact with your own experience.
We’ll look at:
- intimacy versus emotional enmeshment
- when empathy becomes over-functioning
- the difference between openness and self-abandonment
- what it means to remain fully yourself while building connection
- how sovereignty and intimacy can coexist
Sunday 4 October
Is This Mutual?

How to tell the difference between a difficult relationship and one you are carrying by yourself.
Every relationship goes through difficult periods.
That does not automatically mean something is wrong.
But there is an important difference between working through difficulty together and repeatedly compensating for another person's lack of participation.
We’ll explore:
- ordinary relationship difficulty versus chronic one-sidedness
- the less obvious forms of emotional over-functioning
- intention versus actual relational capacity
- what reciprocity looks like in observable behaviour
- what happens when you stop compensating for what is missing
This workshop is designed to help you move beyond the question, "Is this a red flag?" and towards a more useful one:
What is this relationship actually showing me?
Friday 23 October

You can be decisive, perceptive and grounded in most areas of your life – and find yourself astonishingly uncertain once your heart is involved.
"Maybe I'm expecting too much."
"Perhaps I haven't communicated clearly enough."
"He's under a lot of pressure."
"Relationships aren't supposed to be easy."
Sometimes those are reasonable considerations.
Sometimes they become ways of talking yourself out of what you already see.
We’ll uncover:
- why emotional intelligence can sometimes increase relationship confusion
- healthy self-reflection versus chronic self-doubt
- facts, interpretations and stories
- discernment versus fear
- when empathy helps you understand someone and when it starts obscuring reality
- how to hold uncertainty without abandoning your own perception
November – date to be announced
Each workshop stands alone. You do not need to attend all three to benefit.
But together, they form a progression:
Intimacy
Can I stay myself while letting someone close?
Mutuality
Are we actually building this relationship together?
Self-trust
Can I trust myself to recognise what I’m seeing?

These workshops may be for you if you...
Are thoughtful and self-aware, but relationships can still leave you second-guessing yourself.
Have wondered whether you are being patient and compassionate – or simply carrying too much.
Don't want another collection of dating rules or red-flag checklists.
Want to become better at seeing the relationship actually in front of you.
Want love that allows you to remain fully yourself while participating in something genuinely shared.
This isn't about becoming more suspicious of love
Nor is it about treating every relational difficulty as evidence that someone is unavailable.
Relationships require generosity, repair, patience and periods in which one person may temporarily carry more than the other.
Relational sovereignty is about being able to recognise the difference between a relationship experiencing difficulty and a relationship whose basic functioning increasingly depends upon you compensating for what isn't being contributed.
That difference matters.
